Making Essene Bread – My First Attempt

Today was my very first attempt at making Essene Bread and I did quite well considering I did not have a very detailed recipe to follow.
What I did was sprout my wheat for about 3 days until the sprouts were around 1/4 – 1/2 inch long. I also had a bit of sprouted Quinoa as well. I put all the sprouts into my Blendtec blender until it turned into a dough.
After that I formed the sprouted wheat / sprouted quinoa mixture into small wafer like sections about 1/4 inch thick. Then I turned on my Excalibur dehydrator at 145 for about 3 hours then turned it down to about 125 degrees for about 6 more hours.
I made a video after I took them out of the dehydrator to show you what they looked like:
They turned out much better than I anticipated! Yes, they were bland, but when I combined them with my guacamole dip it turned out to be quite a fulfilling meal!
I will be making Essene bread again for sure! Maybe next time I will try some different variations and do a bit of experimenting with ingredients and flavors. After all, sprouting is an adventure right?
I used to think I was getting fulfillment and enjoyment out of processed foods. It was not until I started eating straight from nature that I discovered the true beauty and love of real foods.
I always try to be appreciative of the food that I eat, but when you witness a little seed growing, sprouting and living and doing it for you to nourish your body, it brings on a whole new perspective and deeper appreciation for God and mother nature.

They look delicious. Thanks for the video. I’m going to try.
