How to Make Sprouted Wheat Bread



The component of sprouted wheat bread is germinated whole grains. It is oftentimes eaten raw. Other times it is slightly heated.

Sprouted wheat bread is delicious as is. More so, when seeds are sprouted firsthand, it is active in the whole process. Therefore, sprouted grains have more vitamins and nutrients.

How can we make a sprouted wheat bread? The process is very simple. We can do it at home. It is even interesting and fun.

First step is to prepare the ingredients. We will need a jar. Choose the one where you can put in huge amount of grain. Find a jar with a large mouth.

We will need a rubber band. The rubber band should be able to hold the mouth of the jar. We will need cheesecloth, whole grain, lots of fresh water, a food additive, and 2 cups of ground grain sprout.

Make sure your jar is thoroughly cleaned. Put 2 tablespoon of whole gain in the jar. Then fill it with fresh water. Cover the jar with cheesecloth, and then seal it with the rubber band.

Put the jar in a secluded part of the kitchen. Make sure it is away from the reach of children. Leave the jar for a minimum of 13 hours.

Once the time frame allotted is over, drain the water. However, do not remove the cheesecloth. Simply allow the water run out from the jar.

Once the water is totally drained, fill it again with fresh water. After a number of minutes, drain it for the second time. Then set it aside.

Place the jar in a secluded area. Again, make sure it is on a warm location. Put it is on a location where there are lesser lights.

Do not put it in the cabinet. It should not be placed on a closed location. Again, make sure it is not within the reach of children.

The next day, fill it with water. Then drain again. Repeat the process three times. However, rinse it this time. Wait for three to four days repeating the same cycle.

Usually, sprouting occurs within 3 to 4 days. On the 3rd or 4th day, place the jar on the ridge or on any area where it is exposed to light. Leave it for one day.

It will green up after 24 hours. We have to wait. After 24 hours, cover the baking sheet with the sprouts. Let it dry for another 8 hours. However, put it in an oven overnight on the lowest setting.

Pulverize the grains in a blender under they become coarse like. Add it to a bread recipe. You are now able to make a sprouted wheat bread.
